CLEARWATER, Fla. – The city of Clearwater is recommending for residents to make 2018 a year of better health by purchasing a Clearwater Recreation Card. These cards will give users access to all the exciting, heart pumping, fat burning programs offered at the city’s recreation centers. Recreation card holders will also have access to fitness centers, pools, gymnasiums and more.
According to the latest research, Florida’s adult obesity rate is currently 27 percent, up from 19 percent in 2000 and from 11 percent in 1990. To help reverse the rising obesity rate, city officials are recommending getting more exercise and eating healthy, which are all things you can learn at recreation centers.
Recreation cards are available to residents and non-residents. Fees for city-sponsored programs and activities are reduced for those who purchase recreation cards or passes. Purchasers may also upgrade their card to a PLUS, allowing the card holder unlimited use of certain amenities during open hours without having to pay a daily fee. This includes access to all city of Clearwater fitness centers, swimming pools, open gym and more. Get more information by visiting MyClearwaterParks.com/facilities/recreation-cards-and-passes.
